Tiden är kommen då High Time och Pish Club gör sitt första samarbete ihop och självklart ställer vi till med en helkväll denna afton! Med två kära återseenden dessutom.
På scen: DEATH VALLEY GIRLS (US) Think of Death Valley Girls as an acid-tripping science experiment that’s been buried alive, and resurrected as a sexually liberated dystopian chain-gang. A cosmic scar, if you will, on the hills of Echo Park, where the experiment began in 2013 by proto-punk Bonnie Bloomgarden and guitarist Larry Schemel — who got lost in the desert, returned to their haunted garage in Echo Park, and pieced together their vision with shopworn images of sexploitation babes, a blood-soaked Iggy Pop, and Bloomgarden’s series of phantasms, the result of spending a year in a mental institution, where she planned her neon-glowing odyssey by listening to Black Sabbath and UFO, reading about alien conspiracy theories, and deriving her band’s moral compass from a line she saw in a movie:
“Everybody’s gotta be in a gang,” from campy sexploitation romp Switchblade Sisters (1975).
THE SHIVAS (US). The Shivas are a rock and roll band from Portland, Oregon formed in 2006. With mountains of reverb and walls of feedback they have since rolled their swirling dance party throughout many countries around the world. The Shivas have released 5 LPs, a 7” EP and various short run cassettes. They have been featured at festivals such as SXSW, Austin Psych Fest and Levitation Vancouver (BC Canada), as well as having toured or appeared with the likes of The Dandy Warhols, Spiritualized and La Luz.
The Shivas will release their new record “Turn Me On” via Annibale Records for this tour, don’t miss out!
